Members of Bright Star are active participants in many vital ministries including:
Douglasville Homeless Shelter…exist to provide a helping hand to people who have found themselves homeless and in need of support; physical and emotional. Bright Star is excited that members of the church serve as board members and take an active part in the ongoing ministry. Volunteers are always welcome, as are gifts.

GOOD SAMARITAN SUNDAY
The Good Samaritan Center is an organization supported by the churches of Douglas County to help people in need with food and financial assistance in emergency situations. This has been a valuable ministry in our county for more than 19 years. The first Sunday of each month at Bright Star is Good Samaritan Sunday. Please bring your donations of canned goods, or other non-perishables and place in the designated bin. Ask your Sunday School teacher or your child's Sunday School teacher about the contest for the class that can bring the most cans each month. Below is a list of items the center uses to fill a standard food order: Vegetable Soup, Tomato Soup, Crackers, Chicken Noodle Soup, Peanut Butter, Apple Sauce, Macaroni & Cheese, Instant Potatoes, Dry Milk, Mixed Vegetables, Corn, Green Beans, English Peas, Butter Beans, Pinto Beans, Oatmeal, Salmon, Tuna, Spaghetti & Sauce with Meat, Chicken & Dumplings. The Good Samaritan Center is always happy to have volunteers, and we also ask for your prayers that God continue to bless this ministry.
